Fat Tire Tour of Green Bay

Yesterday we did the Fat Tire Tour of Green Bay.  This was the 4th year of this ride, but our first time going.  Check out their page, it was a really awesome day on the bikes.
This is at the beginning of the ride. Great turnout! Cocktails and beers were available at Ned Kelley’s while waiting for the days announcements, and the start of the ride. The last pic was of the lead bike, which provided us with music for the whole ride.

This was our first stop Mather Heights park! At every stop they had snacks and free Hinterland Beer!

The second stop had a bike derby, Randy entered and took 3rd place! Great Job honey! The third stop had a food truck, it was Mackinaw’s. It was great food, just what we needed.
The last stop was at The Green Bay Bike Collective They has some games and more beer of course! We also had a surprise visit from the Ice creme man!

Eau Claire Breweries

Recently we went to Eau Claire and visited 4 breweries.  The first one we stopped at was OMBIBULOUS,  which is actually located in Altoona, WI. They opened in July of 2019.

We really enjoyed this place!  It is family owned and ran. Their beer was really good for being a young brewery.

The next was, Modicum, which stands for a small quantity of a particular thing, especially something considered valuable or desirable. They were founded in 2017. This brewery was really cool!  They had a great selection of beer!

Ride across Lake Winnebago

Every year we participate in ride across Lake Winnebago on our fat bikes. You don’t have to ride a fat bike you can ride any kind of bike you want. Believe me you will see all sorts of bikes and some fun costumes too! Some years it is very slippery and hard to even get on your bike, so I would suggest studded tires!  Maybe even something for the  bottom of your shoes.  This ride is approximately 10 miles each way, but there are 2 craft beer stands set up along the way.  This year it was Appleton Beer Factory and Bare Bones Brewing, which is located in Oshkosh. Then there is a stand called Apple Pie Vile, where you can get shots of apple pie to warm up.

First fat bike ride of the season

20190308_221757972_iOSGood morning everyone!

We went on our first fat bike ride of the winter season last week.  We went to Hartman Creek State Park in Waupaca, WI.  The conditions were not the best because there was a layer of ice under the layer of new fallen snow.  It was tough to get a momentum going.  I fell several times and wanted to give up but my awesome husband kept telling me I could do it!  I kept going and did finish the loop which took twice as long as usual.  What a workout.  It was a great day to ride.  Of course after the ride we were thirsty so we decided to go to the new brewery H.H.Hinder in Waupaca.  This was our second time there.  It is a beautiful place with a retro feeling!

Saturday Adventures

It was a gorgeous Saturday morning, so we packed up our gravel bikes and hit the road.  The first stop was at Parallel 44 winery.  We belong to their wine club, which gives us a chance to go there at least 4 times a year!  Being in the wine club gives us the chance to have a free tasting every time we go there.  That means we get to try 6 different wines of our choice.  After that we decided to have a glass on their beautiful patio that overlooks the vineyard.  Then it was on to Ahnappe Brewing in Algoma.  This brewery is right next to Von Stiehl winery.  This brewery is in a garage, and has some of the best beer around.
